Why Counselling?
Many people find themselves considering counselling when they want their lives to change. This is sometimes a response to symptoms such as depression, anxiety, panic attacks, addiction, and flashbacks. At other times, it's simply because there is a general sense that life isn't working how they would like it to.
It's at times like these that finding a trustworthy person to talk to can feel invaluable.
I can offer a safe and empathetic environment in which we can begin to explore together the causes and effects of unwanted thoughts, feelings and behaviour. Our work together will aim to heal past hurts, reduce present distress, and equip you with tools to face whatever the future may bring.
My Approach
I am an integrative counsellor, which means that I use a multitude of theories based on the presenting issues and how you would prefer to work together. My approach is driven by compassion and respect, which is rooted in my firm belief that all people have inherent worth and deserve to be loved.
Experience has shown me that most people who come to counselling think of themselves or their lives as broken or deficient in some vital way. My philosophy is that all behaviour exists for a reason and that beginning to understand actions and reactions as natural responses to events in our lives helps to set us free to live more wholeheartedly.
About Me
My name is Ange Harris. I am a member of the BACP and have an MA in Integrative Counselling from the University of Roehampton. I work two days a week as a school counsellor for the Norwich School. My private practice is based in the Wymondham & Mulbarton areas.
I am qualified to work with clients aged 13 and over who are struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma-related difficulties, abuse, attachment difficulties, pregnancy and baby loss, addiction, self-harm, eating disorders, and other issues that get in the way of experiencing life to the full.
I have experience of working with both individuals and couples.
I am a practising Christian.
My fees are:
£40 per hour for individuals
£60 per hour for couples
